Offers Equity + Acceleration Options. Performance Bonus up to 50% of base.

Role Overview
At Instant.Lawyer, we are building the future of legal services—making world-class expertise accessible instantly through advanced AI. Our platform simplifies complex legal frameworks and empowers people to take control of their own legal outcomes, whether they are individuals, families, or businesses.
As a Product Security Engineer, you will ensure that security is built into every layer of our product. You’ll take ownership of securing specific areas of the platform, partner closely with developers, and implement scalable security controls that protect both our users and our ecosystem.
This is a hands-on engineering role with a strong security focus. You’ll conduct security reviews, design controls, contribute production-ready code, and help us anticipate and defend against emerging threats. By combining offensive security expertise with an engineering-first mindset, you’ll directly shape the trust, resilience, and safety of Instant.Lawyer as we scale globally.
What You'll Do

Own the security posture for specific product areas, working hand-in-hand with engineering teams to integrate security into every stage of development.

Design, implement, and scale proactive security controls and tooling across the organization.

Conduct security reviews of architecture, code, and infrastructure; provide actionable feedback to engineering teams.

Lead and participate in penetration testing, threat modeling, and red-team exercises with both internal and external partners.

Investigate, triage, and respond to security incidents; identify root causes and drive long-term remediation.

Build developer-friendly security guidance, training, and processes that empower teams to ship quickly and securely.

Stay ahead of emerging threats by leveraging offensive security techniques, industry intelligence, and lessons learned from global incidents.

Contribute production-ready code, demonstrating an engineering-first mindset in building secure systems.
What You Have
-
4+ years of experience in product security, application security, or a closely related security engineering role.

Strong technical foundation in at least one of: web application security, cloud infrastructure security (AWS, GCP, or Azure), or secure software development.

Proven ability to conduct and interpret penetration testing, threat modeling, and code review.

Familiarity with secure coding practices and common vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP Top 10, SANS CWE).

Hands-on experience with modern development practices (CI/CD, containerization, IaC) together with strong programming or scripting skills (e.g., Python, Go, JavaScript, or similar).

Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

A proactive, ownership-driven mindset with a passion for building secure systems that scale
Bonus Points

Experience in offensive security (e.g., red teaming, exploit development, bug bounty programs).

Deep knowledge of cryptography, privacy-preserving technologies, or applied security research.

Previous exposure to the legal tech, fintech, or highly regulated industries (where compliance and trust are paramount).

Ability to translate complex security concepts into clear, actionable guidance for non-experts.
